Slade
We are now able
to offer self-catering accommodation at The Slade.
You will have a sitting room, kitchen, bathroom
and double bedroom in the main house, not in an
annexe, and your own private entrance. Additional
bedrooms can be made available for short periods.
All the rooms are fully furnished and equipped,
and a complimentary box of chocolates awaits you
on arrival.

Our
problem with holidays is that we can rarely find
anywhere as beautiful and peaceful as this. We
are in Herefordshire's Golden Valley - one of
the very few unspoiled rural areas remaining in
England. We are very close to Hay-on-Wye (books),
and the many attractions in Central and Southern
Wales and the Borders. Your bedroom looks across
to the Black Mountains. You will be surrounded
by miles of quiet lanes, footpaths, woods and
fields - a walker's dream. If your idea of a holiday
is to do nothing, very slowly, this is the place
to be.
For supplies,
there's an excellent village shop, and you're
only 20 minutes from Hereford (East) and Hay (West).
If you get desperate for bright lights, Cardiff
is an easy hour's drive - and there is no nicer
city in the UK. These days, too, Herefordshire
is stuffed with good restaurants, often featuring
superb local products. And if the worst comes
to the worst, and you're really short of something
to do, we can always set you to work in the garden
- and if you're very, very good, we might let
you taste the chocolates!
